Here at the Futon Shop we've found over the years that many of our customers are looking for simplicity in a bed frame that will fit neatly and compactly on your floor and can be easily moved from room to room or from one home to another without being a DIY genius!

Of course strength in a frame is equally important and this leads me to comment on our blog. I've been 'nosing' around over the last week or so at some of the futon bed frames on offer in 'internet land' and they seem to range from the extravagant oriental styles through to items that look like you'll be lucky to still be using them after 6 months. Anyway, we've come across a tidy little frame called The Roots, a simple traditional 'A' frame futon that can be used as a sofa frame but, in my opinion, is best utilised as a simple lay flat bed frame.

The Roots is manufactured in redwood pine that is FSC Certified, i.e. from managed, sustainable sources in Europe, the slats are neat and strong, the finish is smooth and, although it arrives flat-packed, assembly is very straightforward, all the holes in the right places and neatly fitting together. The Roots also features a supporting central under-rail ensuring that the slats are not flexing in use.

Anyway, the Roots is just one of our range of futon bed frames but certainly worth a look if you're looking for a bed frame at a low cost. Visit our website for full details.

Glamping? I know you're thinking what has that got to do with Futon Beds? Well, over the last few years we've supplied our Futon Beds and Futon Sofa Beds into some great camping environments. 'Glamping' is the name given to, er, 'posh' camping! This includes Yurts, Bell Tents, Safari Tents and basically any traditional canvass tents which are made lovely and cosy with soft furnishings, often wooden floors and comfy beds or sofabeds.
This lovely glamping site in Snowdonia has used our Osaka Futon Beds in their traditional Bell Tents and, as you can see from the picture, they look great and suit this style of camping perfectly.
For further information on our futon beds follow the links in this posting and, of course, if you fancy a glamping trip in Snowdonia follow the link below:

I know its been a while since I made a posting here, but we've be very busy, so 'Thanks' to everyone who made this summer a busy one for us.
Anyway, here's a picture of the new Osumi low level futon bed frame. Great if you want to stay low but raise your futon mattress off the floor. The Osumi is constructed by a great little firm down in Dorset in a top quality Scandinavian Redwood pine, in other words; built to last. You can check it out in the 'Futon Low Level Beds' department at http://www.futonworld.co.uk/.
Whilst you're there have a look at the return of the FutoFlex futon mattress, an old favorite making a welcome return, the FutoFlex features a mini pocket-sprung centre to provide lasting comfort.
